Comfy Cosmo

I didn’t even care that ma was using the flashy box. Now that you disturbed me, where is my dinner? What, no food left? I have to wait for dad to get home? Geez!
The days are getting shorter. My days on the harness are coming to an end for a few months-unfortunately. I just had my annual vet visit and weighed in at 14 pds, 14 oz. The vet looked at the brown stuff in my right ear that I have a problem with and it’s yeast. So ma got drops that she keeps refrigerated and it’s a shock when she remembers to use them. My ear is much better. The vet also said I have tarter on my teeth and should have them professionally cleaned-for $225! When my ma took her girl cat to another vet, she use to do that scraping at the annual visit as part of the exam! I swear the newer vets charge for every little thing! So ma decides to get cat toothpaste and since I’ve never had my teeth brushed, I’m keeping my mouth closed as tightly as possible! She tried a few times and hasn’t tried in the last few days. Ma was sad as the visit was over $140 and she only had $80 on her. She asked the lady who was taking the money if they could bill her for the rest and they said no, that ma couldn’t take home the medicine for me unless they got the entire payment. Ma dipped in her food money and told them that and the lady laughed! Urghhh. If other doctors can take partial payment, why can’t they too? We are thinking about getting pet insurance soon.
Hope all you kitties and pals are doing fine!
Here I am going under the sofa to lay near the heat duct! Sean took this photo.

This is insane! I can’t even find a good hiding place under the globe here. Ma-please start getting rid of more books-you never read them-they are just for show it seems. Sean got rid of some of his-well he is trying to sell them and they aren’t in his room, but in a crate in the basement-but they are going if they don’t sell. Come on!
That big book over my head (it weighs a ton), was given to ma by her cousin about her paternal family history-if she cleaned off one shelf, there would be room for that!

With all the rain we had this past summer, the grass has been growing like crazy. Ma has been bringing me in long stalks of it-the kind with the ‘cattails’ on the end. She says it’s the cheapest toy ever. Only thing, she let me chew on one too much, and I left dad a greenish present on the basement floor. Ma said at least she didn’t have to clean it up!

I like this photo because of the claw action!
Ma made a video of me playing with the grass and will share it soon.

Actually it could be, but ma made it because I am her favorite animal-ha! She’s going to trade it with another lady over at Flickr. Very funny about the feathers too. I hardly get a sniff of feathers, let alone delicious grass.
Being in the dark is nothing new to me. I’m down the basement while my family sleeps at night. Yesterday, early in the evening, the wind outside was so strong, it made all the lights go out for a while. My family gets a bit freaky and funny. My ma went around making fire in different spots of the house. She had a candy smelling one in the kitchen, a lemony lime one in the bathroom and a Christmas one in the dining room! P.U.!
Then they got out the things with the loud noise and they stick things in their ears and ’sing’ (I use that verb loosely) or hum. My ma had one in her ears and I came up for a lap visit and she tried to get me to hear the song-nonsense! Then she was singing to me -’for the first time, when I look into your eyes’-very mushy stuff-and the power came on and everyone’s eyes were squinty and it was so bright. Very interesting.

Tuxie visits again!

This guy is being persistent! I didn’t want my ma to feed him (like 5 days ago) and she did. She is thinking his family will be home today (well she thinks it’s the dentist man a few doors down), so maybe he’ll go home. He keeps following ma around the yard. She says she thought he was sick, but then he dropped and rolled and rolled like I do when I want attention. Crossing fingers he’ll vamoose!
Last week on one of my after din din walks around the yard, I went over near the shed and stopped dead in my tracks. About 10 feet or so away was ‘tuxie cat’ that’s what we all call this yard intruder. He started saying stuff in cat language like ‘I came to see the niiiccce laddyyyy’. I knew who he meant, my ma! Then I told him back ‘That’s my mmuuthhher’ and ‘get out of my yaarrddd’. I puffed up my tail and we talked and got loud for a few minutes. He looked like he had bubblegum in his mouth. My dad was there and ma said to walk toward tuxie and he did and off went the nosy kitty! I was still full of vim and vigor and wanted to stay glued to that spot. I almost had to be pulled away.
A few days later, I was in the bedroom on the perch and you guessed it, there was tuxie cat walking along the bank out back. I was just staring! Ma saw him too. She went outside near where he had been and I just stared-I couldn’t believe she was looking for him.
I’m putting up a sign-’no tuxies allowed’!!!

Birds!

I was skeptical at first, but I have seen things like birdhouses that bird are suppose to live in like that birdhouse there. When ma pulled this nest and birds out of a box-I just teased her and pretended they were real. I was very comfy sitting next to the porcelain birds as you can see!
